Production at Rocglen commenced in November 2008. The mine has a ROM production rate of approximately 1.2Mtpa (permitted to 1.5Mtpa) and produces medium to high ash, low sulphur, low phosphorus, medium to high volatile export thermal coal. Rocglen has Reserves in place to support a mine life of approximately eight to ten years.*
In the quarter ended September 2011, New South Wales Government approval for extension of Rocglen was received to modify the Rocglen Project Approval to take account of modified geological information and mine planning.
