Mining Operations
The Sunnyside open cut project site is located 15 km west of Gunnedah and produces around 1 mtpa of raw coal for the export market.
The coal is trucked by road to Whitehaven's Gunnedah CHPP for washing and loading for transport by rail to the Port of Newcastle.
A truck and excavator mining method is used.
